THE REASON FOR A CHOICE

The “Andare Oltre” Foundation non-profit organization was founded by Dr. Piero Petricca, Orthopedic Surgeon who for over 30 years carried out his institutional activity at public facilities in Lazio, mainly dealing with traumatology.

Since 2000 he has also been involved in volunteering, lending his Orthopedic work to children with impaired motor skills and poor people, through humanitarian missions lasting 3-4 weeks each carried out in various African countries (Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar).

With the work of the Foundation, it intends to consolidate this commitment, guaranteeing a continuous and organic presence of specialized operators who, in addition to the purely medical and surgical aspects, also deal with the ongoing training of local medical and paramedical staff, promoting, at the same time, projects of collaboration for the education of children and young people, to help them improve their social status and their future expectations.

THE MISSION

The “Andare Oltre”foundation is a non-political organisation which  aims to cooperate in the growth of developing countries through health, humanitarian, environmental and social activities for:

• support local hospitals by sending health professionals and appropriate means
• contribute to the adaptation and recovery of inefficient health structures
• improve the preparation of local health personnel through ongoing training courses
• ensuring access to health care for the most deprived persons
• realizzare programmi di cooperazione tecnica per il risanamento ambientale, in particolare per la lotta contro la malaria
• realizzare programmi di cooperazione per l’alfabetizzazione dei giovani
• realizzare programmi di cooperazione per il recupero e lo sviluppo del patrimonio agro-alimentare
• favorire la realizzazione di attività di sostegno individuale, promuovendo il microcredito nel commercio, nel settore agro pastorale e nell’artigianato.
